Welcome to the
New Cuba Coalition Web Site
New Cuba Coalition (NCC)
is an educational, non-profit, tax-exempt organization whose aim is to help in
the social, political and economic reconstruction of Cuba after Castro is gone
from power. We recognize that many in the West are fearful
that changes in the current regime will lead to social and economic chaos on the
island. Our goal is to show how Cuba can meet the difficult challenge of its
economic and social reconstruction without suffering the fate of other
ex-communist countries. Cuba's transition to a pluralistic democracy and a
market economy requires, in our view, a suitable political and legal
infrastructure in order to avoid unnecessary human suffering. This is our
focus.

“Peaceful Transition" in Cuba: An Enforced Insanity
and A Way Out of It
Whenever it comes to Cuba¹s situation, it seems that people lose their
bearings they don¹t know where they are, or where they¹re going.

Joseph Pulitzer
Our Republic and its press will
rise or fall together.. An able, disinterested, public-spirited
press, with trained intelligence to know the right and courage
to do it, can preserve that public virtue without which popular
government is a sham and a mockery. A cynical, mercenary,
demagogic press will produce in time a people as base as itself.
The power to mould the future of the Republic will be in the
hands of the journalists of future generations.
